Revised 28-Sep-2001
We are fortunate in having many satisfied customers, who take the time to write appreciative e-mails. The following is a recent example -
From Mr. D. H., Chicago, Illinois, USA
"Greetings Peter:
I am very happy to report that the shoulder plane* arrived last
Friday as you had hoped. This is a beautiful plane, and exceeded
my expectations based on the photograph. The iron is very sharp
(you have very similar sharpining
standards to me!) and I put it through its paces in my shop and
it performed flawlessly. This is certainly one of the very few
tools I have purchased where the sole of the plane was in perfect
conditon and needed no lapping
prior to use. Many thanks for your help in this matter and I will
enjoy this plane for many years to come!
Very Best Regards,
D. H."
* T597) SPIERS Shoulder Plane (click
for photograph), Rosewood filled, Dovetailed, 7 7/8" long,
1 1/4" wide, 1 1/4" wide Marples snecked iron, 7/8"
remains below shoulder. Steel very good, rosewood likewise, stamped
by previous owner on heel and toe. This plane has the old style
'rather curvy' rosewood wedge. Good fine mouth, all in all a comfortable
and attractive plane. G++.
